Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the Ramgarh district administration to take immediate action after a social-media video alleged severe air pollution from a privately operated steel unit in Ramgarh district. The Chief Minister took suo motu cognisance of the post, reposted the video and called the situation “completely unacceptable.”
As per the reports, the video recorded by a local resident named Surendra—shows vegetation and open land near the factory premises coated in ash, with fine dust particles dispersing into the air and allegedly spreading towards nearby agricultural fields and forest areas. The clip gained traction after being shared on X by an account identified as Ashok Danoda.
Soren instructed the Deputy Commissioner, Ramgarh to investigate the allegations, initiate action as per rules, and submit a detailed report to the state government. Officials indicated the administration would examine potential violations of environmental norms and pollution control standards.
