Adani Dhamra Port Dispatches First Steel Slab Rake

Adani Dhamra Port has marked a major milestone with the successful dispatch of its first-ever steel slab rake, reinforcing its role as a key logistics hub on India’s east coast.

The port handled a shipment of 35,000 metric tonnes of steel slabs delivered by the vessel M.V. HTK Neptune. From this, 2,900 metric tonnes—spread across 133 slabs—were efficiently loaded onto 45 BFNS wagons and dispatched to Jindal Stainless Limited’s plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha.

This achievement highlights Dhamra Port’s growing capability to manage heavy industrial cargo with high operational precision. The entire operation was completed within scheduled timelines, reflecting strong coordination, modern infrastructure, and workforce commitment.

Officials credited this success to collaborative efforts and emphasized the port’s expanding portfolio, which includes bulk, container, and now steel slab handling. The development supports India’s manufacturing and export ecosystem, especially in steel and heavy industries.

With advanced berthing facilities, deep-draft access, and strong rail-road connectivity, Dhamra Port continues to play a vital role in driving industrial logistics and regional economic growth.
