Metinvest-SMC, part of the Metinvest Group, has significantly expanded its supply of galvanized rolled steel to meet rising demand in Ukraine’s construction sector. The growth is largely driven by the increasing popularity of frameless arch structures, which are being widely used in warehouses, logistics centers, production facilities, and sports complexes.

One notable project is the construction of four covered grain hangars in the Odesa region, where Metinvest-SMC delivered nearly 600 tonnes of materials, including galvanized coils from Unisteel and rebar from Kametstal. By early September 2025, the company had already supplied 3,000 tonnes of galvanized coils for similar projects and expects total deliveries to reach around 4,500 tonnes by year-end.

According to the company, its Southern regional team now accounts for about 65% of Ukraine’s frameless hangar market, reflecting strong confidence from agricultural and logistics enterprises. Frameless steel structures offer advantages such as quick installation, cost savings of up to 40% compared to traditional buildings, long durability, and column-free spans, making them increasingly attractive.

Metinvest-SMC is also supplying up to 500 tonnes of rebar for the construction of a new water main in Mykolaiv, further underlining its role in supporting critical infrastructure.
