Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has successfully commissioned a 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) blast furnace at its integrated steel plant in Angul, Odisha. With this, Angul has become India’s largest single-location steelmaking facility, significantly boosting JSPL’s production capacity.
The new blast furnace is equipped with advanced technology for energy efficiency and lower emissions, aligning with the company’s sustainability and green steel goals.
Chairman Naveen Jindal noted that this milestone strengthens JSPL’s role in supporting India’s ambition to achieve 300 MTPA steel production by 2030. The expansion is also expected to generate employment and further accelerate Odisha’s industrial development.
This commissioning marks a major step in JSPL’s transformation into one of the country’s largest steel producers, with a sharper focus on capacity growth, efficiency, and sustainable practices.
