Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka, in charge of Finance and Energy in Telangana, expressed the government's commitment to focus on renewable energy for the state's future needs. During the inauguration of the Junna Solar Power Panel production plant in Rangareddy district, he stated that the goal is for Telangana to be self-reliant in meeting its energy requirements by 2030. The government plans to increase renewable energy capacity through hydel, solar, municipal waste, and wind energy.
Mr. Vikramarka actively participated in the event, switching on a wing of the solar panel production unit and learning about the production process from engineers. He toured various units involved in the production, including glass loading, bussing, lay-up, laminating, framing, curing line, cleaning, and sun simulator.
Addressing financial challenges left by the previous government, he claimed that ₹81,000 cr debt burden on power utilities was left unresolved. He assured that the Congress government is dedicated to overcoming this situation and improving renewable energy capacity cost-effectively. Mr Vikramarka acknowledged the foundational role played by former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi in establishing the renewable power generation sector in the country.
On another note, he promised a thorough investigation into irregularities surrounding land acquisition in Chandanavelli. Concerns were raised about wrongful compensation distribution, with some individuals wrongly benefiting while rightful owners were denied their due. The Deputy CM pledged corrective measures, including ensuring justice for victims by including missing names in official records. Additionally, steps would be taken to provide employment opportunities in locally established industries to families who lost their land during government acquisition for industrial development in the village.
Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka emphasised the state's commitment to renewable energy, inaugurated a solar panel production unit, and pledged to address financial challenges and irregularities in land acquisition, promising justice and corrective measures for the affected individuals.
