Delivery scheduled for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Global suppliers expected to bid competitively.
State-owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has floated a global tender seeking suppliers for 225,000 metric tonnes of iron ore pellets. The move aims to strengthen the company’s raw material security and sustain production levels at its Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
According to sources, RINL has issued a tender for procuring the pellet cargo in phases over the coming months. The tender outlines clear specifications for pellet quality, size, and technical parameters. The company expects competitive bids from global suppliers amid a volatile international market for iron ore and pellets.
This procurement initiative comes at a time when India’s steel production and export outlook remain firm. RINL is looking to stabilize its raw material inventory to maintain operational efficiency and meet market demand.
