Metinvest’s steel enabled Everton Stadium’s modern design.

Highlights precision engineering in large projects.

A landmark in global sports infrastructure.

Metinvest's Spartan UK has supplied 1,000 tonnes of hot-rolled steel plates for Everton Football Club's new 52,888-capacity stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool. This contribution was pivotal in realizing the stadium's innovative 'no-blockwork' design, which forgoes traditional masonry in favor of precisely assembled steel components.

Project Overview

  • Stadium Name: Everton Stadium (Hill Dickinson Stadium)

  • Location: Bramley-Moore Dock, Liverpool, England

  • Capacity: 52,888 seats

  • Construction Timeline: Groundbreaking in August 2021; completion in December 2024

  • Opening Date: February 17, 2025

  • Architects: MEIS Architects and BDP Pattern Architects

  • Main Contractor: Laing O’Rourke

  • Structural Engineer: Buro Happold

  • Steelwork Contractor: Severfield.

Metinvest's Contribution

Spartan UK, a subsidiary of Metinvest Group, supplied 1,000 tonnes of hot-rolled plates essential for the stadium's structural integrity. These plates were integral to the 'no-blockwork' construction approach, which required high-quality materials and precise assembly.

Construction Highlights

  • Severfield, the UK's leading structural steel specialist, was responsible for designing, fabricating, and erecting approximately 12,200 tonnes of structural steel for the stadium.

  • The construction featured five long-span roof trusses—two in the north stand and three in the south—each measuring 170 meters in length and weighing up to 200 tonnes.

  • The final 100-tonne steel truss was installed ahead of schedule in early 2023, showcasing the efficiency and coordination of the construction team.
