Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured multiple strategic contracts aimed at strengthening India’s steel manufacturing and maritime infrastructure sectors. The projects include major piling work for JSW Utkal Steel’s integrated steel plant in Paradeep, Odisha, alongside key ship repair and marine infrastructure developments across the country.

L&T GeoStructure, a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, will execute piling operations for the 10 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant being developed by JSW Utkal Steel. The project involves foundation work for critical units including the blast furnace, hot strip mill, and steel melting shop, making it one of the company’s largest piling contracts to date. In the maritime sector, the company has also secured contracts from the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) to construct ship repair facilities in Patna and Varanasi along National Waterway-1 on the River Ganga. Additionally, L&T will develop India’s first yacht marina at Mumbai Harbour, supporting the country’s growing maritime tourism and blue economy initiatives.

Industry analysts believe these projects highlight India’s accelerating infrastructure expansion and growing investment in industrial manufacturing, inland waterways, and marine logistics. The contracts are also expected to strengthen L&T’s position in large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects across steel and infrastructure sectors.
