Lloyds Metals and Energy Ltd (LMEL) has inaugurated an 85-kilometer iron ore slurry pipeline in Gadchiroli district, marking a significant milestone as the first of its kind in western India. This pipeline is set to transport up to 10 million tonnes of iron ore annually from the Surjagarh mines to the Konsari processing plant, aiming to reduce road traffic and environmental impact in the region.
Infrastructure Advancement: The pipeline facilitates the movement of finely ground iron ore in slurry form, enhancing efficiency and minimizing dust pollution.
Economic Impact: With an anticipated daily transport capacity of 30,000 tonnes, the pipeline is expected to bolster local employment and stimulate economic growth in Gadchiroli.
Future Developments: LMEL plans to expand its operations with additional pellet plants and an integrated steel complex in the district, further solidifying its commitment to regional development.
