India’s coking coal import traffic jumps 3.21% in April-May

According to data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA), India's coal import traffic through all major ports in the country has been provisionally estimated at 10.29 million MT during the April–May period of the fiscal year 2024–25, up 3.21% year over year.

Overall coking coal import traffic in May was 5.26 million mt, compared to 5 million mt shipped in April.

Total iron ore freight traffic during the April-May quarter of 2024-25, which includes pellets, has been provisionally estimated at 8.78 million mt, a drop of 8.48% over the same time the previous fiscal year.
