Jakson Ventures Private Ltd (JVPL), one of India's largest and oldest providers of diesel generators, has been forbidden from doing business for two years by the Indian Railways. Jakson is an official dealer for Cummins Inc., a US-based diesel generator manufacturer.
Government authorities who were informed of the event claimed that JVPL had falsified documentation attesting to an earnest money deposit (EMD) as a bank guarantee in response to a bid request made by the Indian Railways' Central Periodical Overhauling (CPOH) Workshop in Prayagraj.
Jakson Group stated that JVPL is an independent legal organisation that has filed a writ appeal in the Allahabad High Court challenging the Railway Board judgement. "Penal action has already been taken against the erring employee in December 2022 who had misappropriated ₹ 5.47 lakh and maligned the name of JVPL," the company said.
