The Chinese customs authorities report that during January-June this year, China exported 6.11 million metric tonnes (MMT) of steel bars, up 11.5% year over year, and 1.32 MMT of wire rods, up 12.3% year over year. China's exports of angles and channels were 2.72 MMT in the same time frame, a 13.2% increase over the previous year.
China exported 1.04 million metric tonnes (MT) of steel bars in June alone, up 12.5% from the previous year. In contrast, wire rods and angles/channels exports were 230,000 MT and 430,000 MT, up 14.4% and 6.5% from the previous year, respectively.
