Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary inaugurated a 45-metre span, single-lane steel motorable bridge over Sadda Nallah at Mangrote (Rajouri), marking a connectivity upgrade for residents in the area.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary said the new bridge will provide all-weather connectivity, ease transportation challenges, and improve commuter safety particularly for people in rural and remote pockets. He reiterated the Union Territory government’s intent to close infrastructure gaps and ensure more balanced development across regions.
During the visit, the Deputy CM also laid the foundation stone for an inspection hut with allied works at Sadda, Kalakote, which he said would strengthen administrative presence and improve monitoring and implementation of development projects.
The event was attended by local representatives including MLA Budhal Javed Iqbal Choudhary and MLA Kalakote Thakur Randhir Singh, along with district development council members and senior officials. The leadership said the bridge was a long-pending requirement and would meaningfully improve accessibility.
