The Quality Council of India (QCI) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) have taken a significant step towards promoting digital inclusion in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector by introducing the DigiReady Certification (DRC) portal. This initiative aims to assess and certify the digital readiness of MSME entities, enabling them to seamlessly onboard as sellers on the ONDC platform and enhance their digital capabilities and business prospects. Through the DRC portal, MSMEs can conduct online self-assessments to evaluate their preparedness for digital transformation. The certification process encompasses various aspects such as documentation for online operations, proficiency in utilising software and technology, integration with digital workflows, and effective management of orders and catalogue offerings. Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairperson of QCI, highlighted that the DigiReady Certification initiative aligns with the Prime Minister's vision to promote digital transactions and sensitisation in villages. It also resonates with the objectives of the FIRST (Forum for Internet Retailers, Sellers, and Traders) initiative. The launch of the DRC portal signifies a crucial milestone in empowering MSMEs and fostering more inclusive and accessible e-commerce platforms. Mr T. Koshy, MD & CEO of ONDC, emphasised that the DigiReady certification can be a game-changer for MSMEs, equipping them with the necessary digital capabilities to navigate the evolving e-commerce landscape. The DRC accelerates the integration of MSMEs into the digital network while enhancing their potential to thrive in the digital economy. This initiative underscores the commitment of ONDC to promote digital inclusion, ensuring a more resilient and empowered future for all stakeholders involved.
