Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has obtained environmental clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change to increase the capacity of its Surkha lignite mine in Gujarat from 3 MTPA to 5 MTPA. The expansion aligns with GMDC's commitment to sustainability and responsible resource utilisation, fostering growth and development in Saurashtra and Gujarat. GMDC anticipates significant revenue growth with the enhanced lignite production capacity.
