Ukrainian steel manufacturer Interpipe has successfully supplied structural steel pipes for the reconstruction of the Titlis Observation Tower, a prominent high-altitude tourist attraction in the Swiss Alps. This project marks a significant milestone for the company as it continues to expand its footprint in high-end global infrastructure projects.
The steel pipes, made of S355J2H grade and compliant with EN 10210-1/2 standards, are engineered to endure the extreme alpine environment characterized by high winds, heavy snow loads, and rugged terrain. These seamless pipes were selected to support a visually striking, cross-shaped steel-and-glass structure that will house a panoramic restaurant, bar, and exhibition space at an elevation of over 3,000 meters.
Designed by renowned architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, the reconstruction is part of the broader TITLIS 3020 development plan aimed at enhancing tourism infrastructure in Engelberg, Switzerland. The revamped tower is expected to open by spring 2026, with further site enhancements scheduled through 2029.
Interpipe’s involvement in this project not only showcases its engineering capabilities but also reinforces its strategic push toward supplying materials for complex, iconic, and sustainable infrastructure around the world.
