French water infrastructure company Tubao has adopted ArcelorMittal's XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel for its hot-dip galvanized metallic tubes, marking another step toward lower-carbon construction solutions. The move supports Tubao's strategy to reduce the environmental impact of hydraulic infrastructure while maintaining product strength and corrosion resistance.According to the company, the use of XCarb® steel lowers the embedded carbon emissions of its galvanized tubes by up to 60% compared with conventional metallic tubes. Tubao also states that its products can achieve carbon savings of up to 70% compared with traditional concrete alternatives, while remaining fully recyclable at the end of their service life.

The initiative reflects the growing demand for sustainable steel solutions across civil engineering and infrastructure projects. By integrating low-carbon steel into its product portfolio, Tubao aims to help customers meet stricter environmental requirements without compromising technical performance.

For steel traders, investors, and industry professionals, the partnership demonstrates how low-carbon steel is becoming an increasingly important differentiator in infrastructure and construction markets. The adoption of innovative steel products is expected to accelerate as industries work toward global decarbonization targets.
