Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) has entered into an agreement with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) for skill training in the power and renewable energy sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties aims at co-creating, developing, and providing courses for training and skill development in these sectors. The collaboration focuses on introducing and training engineers on emerging trends such as operation and maintenance, distributed energy generation, smart grid technologies, and power distribution system activities for the next five years.
Praveen Agrawal, Chief of Industrial Relations and Social Impact at Tata Power-DDL, expressed the company's commitment to combining ASCI's expertise in capacity building and leadership training with Tata Power-DDL's technical knowledge. Rajkiran Bilolikar, Director of the Centre for Energy Studies at ASCI, highlighted ASCI's capabilities in capacity building for power sector professionals in Techno-Managerial Development.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) operates as a 51:49 joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of NCT (National Capital Territory) of Delhi. The power distribution company serves electricity to 7 Mn households in North Delhi.
This initiative reflects a proactive approach by Tata Power-DDL to enhance the skills of professionals in the power and renewable energy sectors. The collaboration with ASCI underscores the importance of staying updated on emerging trends in the industry, including smart grid technologies and distributed energy generation. The focus on training engineers indicates a commitment to improving the technical expertise of personnel involved in the operation and maintenance of power distribution systems.
The partnership's duration is set for five years, during which both entities will work together to contribute to the skill development of individuals working in the power and renewable energy sectors.
