Metalogic PMS hosted its 8th Annual Conference at industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss how steel can power India’s journey towards self-reliance and global competitiveness.
Leaders such as Abhuday Jindal (MD, Jindal Stainless) and Sminu Jindal(MD, Jindal SAW) emphasized the importance of quality, sustainability and self reliance in steel manufacturing. They highlighted steel’s critical role in infrastructure, construction, automotive, and defence sectors that consume over 90% of India’s steel.
India’s steel output continues to surge, with 55 million tonnes of crude steek produced in April-July 2025, up 10.7% year-on-year. Backed by the National Steel Policy, India aims to raise capacity to 300 million tonnes by 2030 and increase per capita consumption from 108 kg to 160 kg.
Monica Bachchan Duvvuri, Founder & CEO of Metalogic PMS, stressed that steel is not just an industrial material but the backbone of nation building. The conference called for greater collaboration across the value chain to strengthen India’s position as a global steel hub.
