Despite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s directive to the Koppal Deputy Commissioner on Tuesday, preparations for the Baldota Group's BSPL project continued unabated on Wednesday. The ongoing activities sparked protests from activists who rushed to the proposed project site and condemned the lack of action by the district authorities.
Local activists and environmental groups have raised serious concerns about the potential impact of the BSPL project. They argue that the project could lead to environmental degradation, displacement, and loss of livelihood for local communities. The continued preparation work, despite the CM’s instructions, has fueled public outrage, leading to calls for immediate intervention.
The apparent disregard for the Chief Minister’s orders has put the district administration under intense scrutiny. Activists are demanding an official response from the authorities, questioning the transparency of the decision-making process regarding the project.
