Dubna iron ore mine resumes in Keonjhar.

Adds 3 MTPA iron ore to OMC’s capacity.

Supports Odisha’s economic and mining goals.

The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has resumed operations at the Dubna iron ore mine in Keonjhar district, further strengthening the state's mineral output. The announcement came during OMC’s 70th foundation day celebrations, inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The mine holds an estimated 25.77 million tonnes of iron ore and 2.6 million tonnes of manganese, with an annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes of iron ore and 0.05 million tonnes of manganese.

Chief Minister Majhi praised OMC’s growth from its humble start to achieving a ₹23,600 crore turnover in FY 2024-25. He emphasized Odisha’s aim to diversify its economy by growing manufacturing alongside agriculture.

The restart of Dubna mine is part of OMC’s push for sustainable mining, with parallel projects like a 900-KW solar plant, mining electrification, and IT upgrades underway. Mines and Steel Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena highlighted that 18 mines are operational under OMC, contributing to Odisha’s mineral self-sufficiency.

OMC also reaffirmed its CSR commitments, having planted over 9 million trees and invested in education, healthcare, and sports initiatives in mining-affected regions.
