Mahindra & Mahindra has partnered with a unit of Adani Total Gas to develop electric vehicle charging infrastructure across India. The automobile manufacturer and Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard.

The MoU also outlines a strategy for developing a nationwide EV charging infrastructure. The Mumbai-based manufacturer added that as part of the agreement, e-mobility solutions spanning discovery, availability, navigation, and transactions will be rolled out to give customers easy access to the charging network. More than 1,100 chargers will now be available to owners of XUV400 electric vehicles due to this association, it added.

"This alliance is a cornerstone in enhancing the EV charging infrastructure, ensuring our customers enjoy seamless access to the charging network and digital integration for an unparalleled EV experience," M&M President—Automotive Division Veejay Nakra said.

He added that in line with its commitment to enhancing customer experience with its partner network, the company is actively onboarding multiple partners to broaden the EV ecosystem and drive the adoption of electric vehicles.

Adani Total Gas Executive Director & CEO Suresh P Manglani said the collaboration with M&M on the charging infrastructure will bolster customers' confidence in embracing EV technology as part of the energy transition. He added, "Together, such steps will help reduce carbon emissions and help India meet its climate action goals."
