Commercial LPG rationing has started affecting steel units, dal mills, bakeries and packaged food manufacturers in Nagpur, raising concerns across industrial clusters. Steel processors rely on LPG for furnace firing, metal cutting, fabrication and heat treatment, making uninterrupted fuel supply critical for daily operations. Industry players say even limited disruption can slow production, increase costs and impact delivery schedules.
Food manufacturers and pulse processors are also under pressure, as LPG is widely used for drying, heating and large-scale cooking processes. With supplies being prioritised for households, hospitals and educational institutions, several businesses are now facing uncertainty over replenishment cycles.
The situation highlights the growing dependence of small and medium industries on commercial LPG and the urgent need for alternate fuel planning. If supply constraints continue, both steel production and food processing activity could see deeper operational stress in the coming days.
