JSP plans to build the world's largest steel plant in Angul by 2030

Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) will set up the world’s largest steel plant in Angul by 2030, said chairman Naveen Jindal. "JSP is expanding its Angul steelmaking facility to 12-MTPA capacity by next year, up from 6-MTPA. In the next six years, we will construct the biggest steel mill in the world in Angul, Jindal declared to the media following a meeting with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi of Odisha.
 
During the meeting, Jindal discussed how Odisha's advantageous location and abundant mineral resources make it a leader in the Indian steel sector. He stressed the significance of sustainable practices and renewable energy for the steel industry.
 
The delegation also discussed potential opportunities for further expansion of the steel industry and manufacturing special-grade and green steel, contributing to the state’s economic development. The industry leaders stressed the need for infrastructure growth and sustainable projects like slurry pipelines to boost the sector in the state.
