Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) has inaugurated its first Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL-1) at the Angul plant in Odisha, marking a major step in expanding its coated steel production capacity. The facility will support JSPL’s value-added steel brands, including Jindal Panther and ZINKALUME.
The new galvanizing line can process steel thicknesses from 0.15 mm to 1.50 mm and widths ranging from 700 mm to 1,400 mm, offering high-quality coated steel for sectors such as appliances, automotive, infrastructure, and construction.
The Jindal Panther range will cater to industries like white goods and auto components, while ZINKALUME offers advanced corrosion-resistant solutions for roofing, solar structures, and pre-engineered buildings.
Chairman Naveen Jindal emphasized the company's focus on innovation and quality, stating the new line reinforces JSPL’s commitment to value-added manufacturing.
This development is part of JSPL’s broader expansion at the Angul facility, which is set to double its production capacity from 6 MTPA to 12 MTPA by the end of 2025, making it one of the largest single-location steel plants globally.
With growing demand for coated steel in both domestic and export markets, JSPL’s move strengthens its position as a key supplier in high-growth sectors, including renewable energy and advanced construction.
