Jindal Steel has appointed Gautam Malhotra as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a key leadership move as the company advances its next phase of growth and sustainability-driven transformation.
Malhotra, who brings over 25 years of experience in the steel and manufacturing sectors, previously held senior leadership roles at ArcelorMittal and Essar Steel, where he oversaw operations, project execution, and strategic expansion.
As CEO, he will focus on operational efficiency, value-added product diversification, and global market expansion, while driving JS’s commitment to green steelmaking and carbon reduction goals.
Company officials said his appointment aligns with JSPL’s long-term vision to achieve capacity expansion, strengthen its export footprint, and enhance technology adoption across facilities in India and abroad.
Industry analysts believe Malhotra’s leadership will help JSPL sharpen its competitive edge, given his proven track record in business restructuring, supply chain optimization, and sustainable steel production.
The leadership change underscores JSPL’s focus on innovation, growth, and global leadership as it positions itself among India’s top integrated steel producers.
