India’s coking coal port traffic up 10% in April-February of FY 2023-24

According to the data sourced from the Indian Ports Association (IPA) on Monday, March 11, India's coal import traffic through all major ports in the country during the April–February period of the fiscal year 2023–24 has been provisionally estimated at 59.365 million metric tonnes (MT), up 10.18% over the corresponding period of the previous year.

Inward shipments of coking coal totaled 4.825 million mt, down from January's 5.715 million mt. According to IPA data, the total freight flow of iron ore, including pellets, for the April–February period was projected to be 55.45 million mt, which represents a 38.45% jump over the equivalent period of the previous fiscal year.
