EverEnviro Resource Management Pvt Ltd, a prominent developer of compressed biogas (CBG) in India, along with its associate partner Thermax Bioenergy Solutions Pvt Ltd (TBSPL), has forged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with European Sustainable Solutions ApS (EUSUSO), a Denmark-based company. The agreement, sealed in the presence of Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, signifies a collaborative effort to integrate EUSUSO's patented Gemidan Ecogi technology into the construction of municipal solid waste (MSW) based CBG plants across India.
The partnership aims to leverage EUSUSO's technological prowess in waste management and green fuel production, known for its exceptional efficiency rate of 99.996% in optimising the pre-treatment phase in CBG plants. Mahesh Girdhar, MD and CEO of EverEnviro expressed confidence in the collaboration's ability to strengthen India's CBG ecosystem and address the nation's energy needs.
The adoption of advanced technology comes at a critical juncture as India faces challenges of urbanisation and landfill capacity. The move aligns with the Indian government's GOBARdhan initiative, which seeks to accelerate the development of MSW-based CBG plants. EverEnviro is already in the process of establishing eight such plants.
Lars Rosgaard, CEO of EUSUSO, highlighted India's promising bioenergy sector and outlined the company's long-term vision, including local manufacturing and solutions for paddy straw management, sustainable aviation, and shipping fuel production.
Deodatta Deshpande, CEO of TBSPL, emphasised the significance of international technology transfers in advancing India's energy goals. The integration of Gemidan Ecogi technology into upcoming MSW-based CBG plants is viewed as a significant leap toward achieving India's net-zero ambitions by 2070.
