The Andhra Pradesh government has approved JSW Steel Limited’s proposal to build a ₹16,350 crore integrated steel plant in Sunnapurallapalle village, Kadapa district. The project will span 1,100 acres and be developed in two phases, with support from the state under its Industrial Development Policy.
In Phase I, JSW will invest ₹4,500 crore, with construction beginning by January 2026 and production expected to start in April 2029. Phase II, involving ₹11,850 crore, will begin by January 2031, with operations slated for April 2034.
The government has allocated the land at a concessional rate of ₹5 lakh per acre. Departments including Industries, Power, Water Resources, Revenue, and Finance have been directed to provide necessary infrastructure and clearances to ensure timely execution.
This major investment is expected to generate around 2,500 jobs and boost industrial development in the Rayalaseema region. Once completed, the Kadapa plant will significantly enhance JSW Steel’s production capacity and support the state's economic growth strategy.
