The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has successfully completed a 100-meter-long steel bridge along the Kalupur-Shahpur stretch in Ahmedabad for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project. This marks the 13th of 17 planned steel bridges in Gujarat. The 1,098-tonne bridge was built parallel to the Sabarmati main line and spans 14 meters high and 15.5 meters wide.

Due to the underlying metro tunnel near Kalupur–Shahpur, engineers opted for a steel truss bridge instead of the standard span-by-span viaduct, ensuring safety for both metro and bullet train infrastructure. The bridge was preassembled on trestles 16.5 meters high before being lowered onto its permanent supports. This engineering feat highlights India’s progress in high-speed rail infrastructure and innovation in urban transit integration.
