A consortium of UAE-based steel companies has launched a major integrated steel manufacturing hub in Umm Al Quwain, strengthening the country’s position as a growing regional center for advanced steel production. The project brings together companies including CIM Steel Industry LLC, Rhino Steel Industries LLC, Metal Care Center Factory LLC, and Aziz Steel under a large-scale industrial ecosystem focused on sustainable and high-value steel manufacturing. The industrial cluster spans nearly 1.4 million square feet and involves investments exceeding AED 440 million. Combined annual steel production and processing capacity is expected to approach one million tons, covering steel melting, cold rolling, coating solutions, pipe manufacturing, and downstream processing operations.
Industry officials said the project aligns with the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” initiative aimed at expanding domestic industrial manufacturing and reducing import dependence. Rhino Steel has already started operations on the region’s first fully automated continuous coating line for Aluzinc coils, while Metal Care Center recently commissioned a scrap-based rebar mill supporting greener steel production.
Analysts believe the new manufacturing hub will improve the UAE’s export competitiveness, strengthen regional steel supply chains, and support growing demand from infrastructure, construction, and industrial projects across the Middle East. The project also reflects increasing investment in sustainable and integrated steel manufacturing technologies within the Gulf region.
