Turkey’s Sarıtaş Stainless Steel has placed a major equipment order with Austria-based Andritz AG for its integrated stainless steel investment at the Yalova Machinery Specialized Organized Industrial Zone. The order includes rolling mills, a cold annealing and pickling line, skin pass mills and auxiliary systems, forming the key technology base for the first phase of cold rolling operations.
The company plans to develop the project in three phases, starting with cold rolling, followed by hot rolling and melt shop investments. By 2030, Sarıtaş aims to build a fully integrated melt-to-finish stainless steel production ecosystem focused on high surface quality, energy efficiency, digital process control and sustainable manufacturing.
The Yalova facility is planned with an annual capacity of 800,000 mt and is expected to help reduce Türkiye’s reliance on imported cold rolled stainless steel while boosting its competitiveness in regional and global steel markets.
