India–US Trade Tensions Rise Over Steel and Auto Tariffs NMDC Limited reports a 38% drop in Q4 FY24 consolidated net profit RINL to Raise $23 Million Through Land Sales Amid Crisis

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the state government will take a final decision on the Baldota Group’s proposed steel mill only after the court delivers its verdict on ongoing legal disputes related to the project.
The proposed plant, planned in Koppal district, has faced multiple hurdles over land acquisition, environmental concerns, and industrial clearances. Siddaramaiah clarified that the state will proceed strictly in accordance with the court’s directions, ensuring transparency and compliance with all regulations.
The Chief Minister made the statement in response to questions on the project’s delay, noting that while the government supports industrial investment and job creation, it cannot move forward until legal matters are resolved.
The Baldota Group, a prominent mining and steel conglomerate, has proposed a large-scale integrated steel facility in North Karnataka. However, public opposition and litigation have slowed progress.
Officials said that the government remains committed to promoting responsible industrialisation while balancing economic development with environmental and social accountability. The court’s ruling will determine the next steps for one of the region’s most awaited steel projects.
