JSW Steel surges as crude steel production rises 5% YoY in Feb'24

JSW Steel rose 3.49% to ₹841.15 after reporting a 5% increase in consolidated crude steel production to 21.50 lakh tonnes in February 2024 compared to 20.51 lakh tonnes in February 2023.

Indian production increased by 4% year on year to 20.59 lakh tonnes. JSW Steel USA-Ohio production increased 24% to 0.91 lakh tonnes in February 2024, up from 0.73 lakh tonnes the previous year.

JSW Steel is India's premier integrated steel producer and the main business of the diverse JSW Group. The steel manufacturer reported a consolidated net profit of ₹2,415 crore in Q3 FY24, steeply higher than ₹490 crore recorded in Q3 FY23. Revenue from operations grew by 6.87% year on year to ₹41,337 crore in the quarter ended 31 December 2023.
