Ji Seob Choi, CEO of Posco Assan TST, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of PASSAD, Türkiye's Stainless Steel Industry Association. The appointment was confirmed during the association's 2nd Ordinary General Assembly and marks the beginning of a new leadership term focused on industry growth and competitiveness.
Under Choi's leadership, PASSAD is expected to prioritize initiatives that enhance the global competitiveness of Türkiye's stainless steel sector, strengthen cooperation among industry stakeholders, and support sustainable development across the value chain. The association plays a key role in representing the interests of stainless steel producers, processors, and suppliers in the country.Alongside the leadership change, PASSAD announced a new board structure, with representatives from leading stainless steel companies taking key positions. The new management team is expected to accelerate projects aimed at expanding industry capabilities, encouraging innovation, and promoting long-term sectoral growth.
Industry observers view the appointment as a positive step for Türkiye's stainless steel market, which continues to seek stronger international positioning amid evolving global trade dynamics. The leadership transition comes at a time when stainless steel producers are increasingly focused on sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness in international markets.
