India's industrial production increased 3.8% in January 2024, according to government figures released on Tuesday.
In January 2023, factory output as expressed by the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 5.8%. According to an official announcement, "India's Index of Industrial Production grows by 3.8% in January 2024."
The National Statistical Office (NSO) reported that the manufacturing sector's output increased by 3.2% in January 2024, down from 4.5% the previous year.
This year's January saw increases in power output of 5.6% and mining production of 5.9%. The IIP increased by 5.9% from April 2023 to January 2024, compared to 5.5% in the previous year.
