Greenzo Energy India Limited has secured a contract from Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) to set up a green hydrogen electrolyser plant at JSL’s industrial facility in Jajpur, Odisha.
The plant will have an annual production capacity of 472 tonnes (≈5.26 million Nm³) of green hydrogen, with provisions to expand up to 1.5 KTPA. The hydrogen will be used in stainless steel operations, including the Bright Annealing Line and Bell Furnace, replacing fossil fuel use and cutting emissions.
The project will be executed within six to seven months, covering supply, installation, commissioning, and training. Greenzo will also provide operational support for one year.
According to Greenzo’s Managing Director Sandeep Agarwal, the plant will feature indigenously developed alkaline bipolar electrolysers with 30 bar pressure, 99.99999% hydrogen purity, SCADA integration, and AI-based automation for real-time monitoring and predictive performance.
This initiative marks a significant step toward decarbonizing India’s steel sector, aligning with national goals on clean energy and sustainability.
