Green Cargo has been chosen to manage the transportation of raw materials and finished steel products for Stegra's upcoming green steel plant in Boden, Sweden. The partnership marks an important step in building an efficient and sustainable logistics network for one of Europe's most ambitious low-carbon steel projects.Under the agreement, Green Cargo will provide rail-based transportation services connecting the Boden facility with key supply chains and customer markets. The logistics solution is expected to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring reliable movement of iron ore, raw materials, and finished steel products across the region.

Stegra's Boden project is designed to produce fossil-free steel using hydrogen-based technology, supporting Europe's broader decarbonization goals. Efficient rail logistics will play a critical role in minimizing the environmental footprint of the steelmaking process while strengthening supply chain reliability.

Industry experts view the collaboration as a significant milestone in the development of sustainable steel infrastructure. By integrating low-emission transportation with green steel production, the project aims to create a more environmentally responsible value chain from raw material sourcing to final product delivery. The partnership highlights the growing importance of logistics in supporting next-generation steelmaking projects as producers increasingly focus on sustainability, operational efficiency, and carbon reduction targets.
