The Canadian government is preparing measures to support the domestic steel industry as it faces pressure from tariffs imposed by the United States.
Officials noted that Canada’s steelmakers are struggling with reduced export competitiveness and rising uncertainties in cross-border trade. The planned support package is aimed at protecting jobs, stabilizing operations, and ensuring the long-term resilience of the sector.
