China's National Development and Reform Commission issues rules for new energy vehicle integration with the electric grid. To manage surging power demand from electric vehicles (EVs), the government promotes solutions such as off-peak charging and "vehicle-to-grid" (V2G) technology. The aim is to create technical standards by 2025 and establish EVs as integral to the country's energy storage system by 2030. The plan includes pilot programs in key regions and incentivising nighttime charging through time-of-use pricing in cities. The NDRC emphasises battery advancements for V2G success.
