RASHTRIYA ISPAT NIGAM LIMITED (RINL), an Indian government-run steel producer, produced 419,000 million tonnes (MT) of crude steel from its two operational blast furnaces in April this year, up 20% year on year, according to a company statement issued on Wednesday, May 8.
The company reports that blast furnace No. 1 produced 202,000 MT of crude steel in April, up 14% from the previous year, and blast furnace No. 2 produced 218,000 MT, up 26%.
The company claimed that finished steel output increased by 100% year on year to 143,000 MT in April.
