NMDC increased iron pricing by ₹400 per tonne for lump ore and ₹200 for fines, effective April 27. The modification has resulted in a tonne of lump ore costing ₹6,200 plus fines of ₹5,260.
The change was made one month after iron prices were lowered by ₹200 per tonne for lump ore and ₹250 for a comparable amount of fines.
According to a company filing, these are FOR pricing that includes royalty, DMF, and NMET but excludes cess, forest permit charge, transit fee, GST, environment cess, and other taxes.
NMDC, which is India’s largest iron ore producer and focuses on the domestic market, had last reduced iron ore prices in March. Shares of the company on April 29 closed 1.12% lower at ₹254.90 apiece on the BSE.
