JSW Steel rises 2% on gas supply worries HSBC raises Tata Steel target to ₹250 British Steel to supply 120,000 mt billet to Nigeria ₹3,200 crore Tata Steel EAF starts in Ludhiana
JSW Steel has announced plans to auction around 20,000 tonnes of calibrated iron ore lumps (CLO) from its Odisha mines. CLO is a high-grade iron ore product widely used in the steelmaking process, particularly in direct reduced iron (DRI) plants and blast furnaces.
The auction is part of JSW’s strategy to optimize the utilization of its mineral resources while ensuring a steady supply to the domestic market. Industry participants note that such auctions provide opportunities for secondary steel producers and smaller mills to access quality raw material at competitive prices.
With steady demand for iron ore across India, the auction is expected to attract strong interest from buyers. This move also reflects JSW Steel’s focus on efficient resource management, transparency in raw material distribution, and supporting the wider steel value chain.
The company has been consistently balancing its captive requirements with market sales, enabling better supply chain efficiency and contributing to India’s overall steel sector growth.
