JSW Steel Records 8% YoY Surge in May 2025 Production Volumes
JSW Steel, one of India’s leading steel producers, announced an 8% year-on-year increase in its crude steel production for May 2025, reaching 21.2 lakh tonnes. This growth reflects continued operational momentum across its key manufacturing units.
Product-wise, the flat steel segment grew 7% YoY to 15.5 lakh tonnes, supported by robust demand in the infrastructure and automotive sectors. Long steel output also saw a 5% increase, reaching 4.4 lakh tonnes.
The production uptick is attributed to smoother plant operations and ongoing capacity optimization. JSW’s strategic investments in process efficiency and downstream capabilities have played a significant role in sustaining growth amid market volatility.
This performance comes at a time when the Indian steel sector is witnessing signs of revival, with domestic demand gaining pace and global commodity trends stabilizing.
