Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) supplied a high-end steel grade for the Indian Railways' Vande Metro train project. "Jindal Stainless delivered approximately 50 tonnes of stainless steel 21LN grade for the project's 12 coaches. If the Railways want to proceed with the high-end grade for the forthcoming Vande Metro trainsets or for the underframes, we would deliver more material," the company said in a statement.
The Indian Railways recently launched the first Vande Metro train from Chennai's Integral Coach Factory (ICF).
According to JSL, the Vande Metro train is the Vande Bharat Express on a shorter route. The stainless steel grade 201LN is stronger, more corrosion-resistant, and long-lasting.
