In a significant event, Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri recently marked the beginning of HPCL's Gas Network in the Godda-Dumka Geographical Area (GA) for PNG & CNG. He also inaugurated Indian Oil's PNG project in Deoghar, Jharkhand, with Member of Parliament, Loksabha, Shri Nishikant Dubey, present at the event in Godda, Jharkhand.
HPCL's Gas Network in the Godda-Dumka GA spans six districts, covering 14507 Sq KM and impacting over 14 lakh households. With an investment of Rs. 1750 crore, this project will benefit regions like Godda, Dumka, Poriyahat, Shikaripara, Jarmundi, Mahagama, Pathargama, Jamtara, Mihijam, Pakur, Litipara, and Sahibganj. The Gas Network will provide piped gas connections to households and establish 100 CNG stations.
In Deoghar, Indian Oil's PNG project covers three districts over 6264 Sq KM, reaching out to more than 6 lakh households. With an investment of Rs. 303 crore, the project aims to connect 30,000 families by 2027 through the installation of a 350 km MDPE network. Deoghar becomes the first district under the Santhal Pargana division to adopt PNG, promoting energy accessibility and sustainability.
These projects promise to revolutionise lives and catalyse growth across commercial and industrial sectors. Over 30,000 families and 100 Commercial/Industrial institutes in Deoghar will benefit from PNG connections, providing hassle-free and economic fuel. Similarly, PNG will extend benefits to over 2 lakh families and Commercial/Industrial entities at Godda-Dumka, ensuring eco-friendly, reliable, and uninterrupted fuel supply.
These initiatives prioritise customer experience, delivering time and cost savings with seamless access to cooking fuel directly in kitchens. Moreover, they are expected to generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities, fostering socio-economic prosperity across the region.
The foundation stone laying ceremony and inauguration of the PNG project represent a significant step towards providing clean and sustainable energy solutions to the residents of Jharkhand.
