Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to launch full-scale construction of the ₹16,350-crore JSW Rayalaseema Integrated Steel Plant at Sunnapurallapalle and Peddadanluru villages in Kadapa district. The project marks a major push for industrial growth in Rayalaseema after nearly two decades of delays, political promises, and stalled steel plant plans.

The JSW integrated steel plant will be developed in two phases and is expected to become a key driver for employment, infrastructure, and steel manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh. Phase I will involve an investment of ₹4,500 crore to set up one million tonnes of annual steel production capacity, creating around 1,000 direct jobs.

Phase II will bring an additional ₹11,850 crore investment, increasing total capacity to two million tonnes per year and generating another 1,500 direct jobs. The plant will use scrap-based Electric Arc Furnace technology and renewable energy, positioning it as a modern green steel project. With commercial production targeted by March 2028, the JSW Andhra Pradesh steel plant is expected to strengthen India’s steel sector and boost regional economic development.
