Nagpur's Advantage Vidarbha event concluded with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressing his encouragement for Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel to establish its proposed steel plant in Gadchiroli. The company, having signed a ₹40,000cr memorandum of understanding (MoU) for investment in the state, is also considering Ratnagiri district in Konkan for its green steel plant with a capacity of six million tonnes per annum.

Speaking at the event, Fadnavis highlighted that the state government has signed MoUs worth ₹3cr with seven major companies for the production of green hydrogen. These companies include NTPC Green Energy, Avada Green Hydrogen, Renew E-fuels, Inox Air Products, L&T Green Tech, JSW Green Hydrogen, and Welspun Godavari, with a total capacity of 910 kilotonnes per annum. These projects are expected to generate 64,000 jobs, with the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel investment alone creating 20,000 jobs.

In addition to industrial investments, the state government is actively promoting farmer-producer organisations (FPOs) and seeking investments in the agriculture sector. Initiatives are underway to encourage value chain addition projects in the farm sector in Vidarbha, contributing to rural development and economic growth.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, who patronised the event, expressed optimism for future editions of Advantage Vidarbha, suggesting the inclusion of separate pavilions for each district in the region. Gadkari emphasised the need for inclusivity, ensuring that every district benefits from such events. The event concluded with discussions covering various sectors, showcasing the potential for economic development in the region.

Gadkari also underscored the importance of promoting coal gasification projects during his speech. He suggested that such projects could lead to the production of dimethyl ether, which, when blended into cooking gas, could reduce its cost. Gadkari proposed the establishment of gasification facilities in the coal mines of Vidarbha, showcasing the region's potential for innovative and sustainable projects.

The Advantage Vidarbha event provided a platform for discussions, collaborations, and investments across multiple sectors, with a focus on fostering economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development in the Vidarbha region.
