The Amara Raja Group's Amara Raja Infra Private Limited (ARIPL) has declared that it has entered the large-scale solar project market by securing a contract from Greenko to implement a 500MW/700MWp solar Balance of System (BoS) project.
The project, located on a 2,200-acre site near Uyyalavada Town in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool District, is the largest solar undertaking by ARIPL to date and a significant addition to its order book, which reached ₹1,516 crore for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2024.
“This project from Greenko is a testament to tireless and dedicated efforts by our team in the renewable energy space. We are proud that Greenko among other noteworthy customers continue to choose Amara Raja as a preferred partner,” said Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director, ARIPL.
The scope of the project includes the engineering, procurement, and construction of the entire BoS for the 700 MWp project, which is part of Greenko’s Integrated Renewable Energy Project. This initiative is recognized as the world’s first and largest gigawatt-scale project that combines solar, wind, and pumped storage components.
Dwarakanadha Reddy, Business Head, Amara Raja Infra (Power), added, "Over the past many years, we have proven ourselves as a trustworthy partner with high integrity that underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering critical projects as per customer timelines."
Greenko, a leading renewable energy company in India, boasts an operating capacity exceeding 6.8 GW, including solar, wind, and hydro power projects across the country. This project is expected to significantly boost ARIPL’s revenues, which stood at ₹1,756 crore for the fiscal year 2024.
