As part of the 'Invest in Odisha' initiative, the ACME Group has joined forces with IHI Corporation to establish a green ammonia plant in Odisha with an investment of ₹60,000 crore, as announced by the state government on January 23. The plant, set to be located in Gopalpur, is anticipated to have a production capacity of 1.2 million metric tonnes.
IHI Corporation, a Japanese company, will play a crucial role in supporting the project, which is expected to require a total investment of $5 billion, according to statements from the ACME Group.
The Odisha Chief Minister’s Office conveyed the development in a social media post, stating, "Giving a major boost to the ‘Make in Odisha’ initiative, ACME Group, in partnership with IHI Corporation, will set up a green ammonia plant at Gopalpur with an investment of ₹60,000 crore." This initiative signifies a significant step forward in promoting sustainable and eco-friendly industrial practices in the region.
